CAR EXPLOSION NEAR RED FORT METRO STATION TRIGGERS HIGH ALERT IN NEW DELHI
New Delhi, Monday: A powerful explosion occurred near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening, sparking panic in the area. According to the Delhi Fire Department, the blast originated from a car, leading to a massive fire that engulfed three to four nearby vehicles, causing significant damage.

While officials have not yet confirmed the number of casualties, multiple media reports, citing sources, suggest that several injured individuals have been admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital. The authorities have imposed a high alert across the national capital in the aftermath of the incident.
Seven fire tenders were immediately rushed to the scene to contain the blaze, as senior police and fire officials arrived to oversee rescue and inspection operations. The area surrounding the metro station has been cordoned off, and forensic teams are currently assessing the extent of the damage and investigating the cause of the explosion.
In response to the incident, BJP MP from Chandni Chowk, Praveen Khandelwal, expressed deep sorrow and called for a thorough investigation. “I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident of a car explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station earlier this evening. This tragic occurrence in the heart of Delhi has caused great distress among citizens. I urge the authorities to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the explosion and ensure such incidents do not recur,” he wrote on X.
Khandelwal also commended the Delhi Fire Department, Police, and emergency services for their prompt response, assuring full cooperation and support to the administration during this difficult time.
