Manipur Woman Arrested for Killing South Korean Partner in Noida Apartment

A late-night argument following alcohol consumption at a luxury apartment in Greater Noida turned fatal, leading to the death of a South Korean national and the arrest of his live-in partner from Manipur, police officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Duck Jee Yuh, a South Korean citizen who was working as a branch manager at a well-known mobile phone company in India. The incident occurred on the night of Sunday, January 4, at the couple’s rented flat in the Knowledge Park area of Greater Noida.

According to police, Yuh was rushed to the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Hospital with severe stab injuries but was declared brought dead by doctors. Hospital authorities immediately alerted the police, triggering a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Police said Yuh was brought to the hospital by his live-in partner, Lunjeana Pamai, a native of Thangal in Manipur. During questioning, Pamai allegedly confessed to stabbing Yuh during a heated altercation. The couple had reportedly been living together for nearly two years.

Investigators revealed that the incident took place during a late-night drinking session. What began as a verbal disagreement allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation. In the course of the argument, Pamai is accused of stabbing Yuh in the chest with a knife, causing fatal injuries.

“During the argument, the situation spiralled out of control. In a fit of anger, the accused allegedly stabbed the victim, leading to his death,” a police officer involved in the investigation said.

After the incident, Pamai reportedly attempted to save Yuh by rushing him to the hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries before doctors could begin treatment. A case has been registered at Knowledge Park Police Station under relevant sections of law, and the accused has been taken into custody.

In an official statement, police confirmed that a South Korean national was brought dead to GIMS Hospital on January 4, 2026, and preliminary investigations indicated that he had been stabbed by his live-in partner. Authorities added that further investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events.

Police also noted that the couple’s relationship had been strained for some time, with frequent arguments allegedly linked to excessive alcohol consumption. Pamai has reportedly claimed that she did not intend to kill Yuh and that the stabbing occurred in the heat of the moment. Her statement is currently being verified as part of the ongoing probe.

The accused remains in police custody as investigators continue to gather evidence, record witness statements, and determine further legal action in the case.
