Significance of the UPSC Civil Services Examination

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is widely regarded as one of the toughest competitive examinations in India. The selection process involves three rigorous stages:

1. Preliminary Examination – Objective screening test

2. Main Examination – Written descriptive papers assessing knowledge and analytical ability

3. Personality Test (Interview) – Evaluation of leadership, decision-making skills, and overall personality

Every year, lakhs of aspirants appear for the examination, but only a small number are finally selected for top administrative positions in the country.

Manipur’s Growing Presence in Civil Services

Manipur has consistently produced successful candidates in national-level competitive examinations. The state’s strong academic culture, dedicated coaching institutions, and the determination of students have contributed to its growing presence in the civil services.

With 36 recognised communities, Manipur’s representation in the UPSC results reflects the collective aspiration of the state’s youth to participate in governance and contribute to the development of the country.

The success of these six candidates in the UPSC CSE 2025 is expected to inspire many more young aspirants from Manipur to pursue careers in the civil services and serve the nation with dedication.
