Olympic silver medallist Saikhom Mirabai Chanu continued her remarkable dominance in international weightlifting by winning the gold medal in the women’s 48kg category.
Mirabai registered a total lift of 190kg, comprising 85kg in the snatch and 105kg in the clean and jerk, setting new Commonwealth and Commonwealth Games records during the competition.
The victory marked another milestone in her illustrious career, reinforcing her position among India’s greatest weightlifters.
Rishikanta Singh Clinches Silver with Personal Best
Adding to India’s medal tally, Chanambam Rishikanta Singh claimed the silver medal in the men’s 60kg category with the best performance of his career.
Rishikanta successfully lifted a total of 264kg and created a new Commonwealth Games record in the snatch with an impressive 121kg lift.
