Asian Games 2026: Roshibina Devi Wins Silver, Makes History with Three Consecutive Medals
Indian wushu athlete Naorem Roshibina Devi won the silver medal in the women’s Sanda 60kg category at the 20th Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on September 24.
Roshibina delivered a strong performance in the final but lost to China’s Xiaoyu Zhang, who secured the gold medal.
The silver medal marked a historic achievement for Roshibina, as she became the first Indian wushu athlete to win medals at three consecutive Asian Games. She previously won bronze at the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games and silver at Hangzhou 2023.
Roshibina reached the final after defeating Macao’s Chu Man Sin 5-0 in the quarterfinals, securing India’s first confirmed wushu medal at the 2026 Asian Games.
The Manipur Police also congratulated Roshibina, who serves as a Deputy Superintendent of Police. The department highlighted her journey from Kwaksiphai to the Asian Games podium and described her achievements as an inspiration for young people and police personnel.
