MANIPUR RECORDS SHARP RISE IN DENGUE CASES; OVER 2,300 INFECTED, ONE DEATH REPORTED
Imphal, October 13: Manipur is witnessing a worrying spike in dengue cases this year, with 2,332 people testing positive and one death reported, according to the state health department.
From January 1 to October 11, health officials tested 5,613 samples, marking a 70% rise in dengue infections compared to last year. Imphal West has emerged as the worst-hit district, recording 1,679 cases, followed by Imphal East with 363 cases. The sole fatality was reported from Bishnupur district.
Authorities have urged citizens to maintain cleanliness, eliminate mosquito breeding sites, and take necessary preventive measures as the state battles the increasing spread of dengue.
