CBI Arrests Senior Accountant in Imphal for Demanding Bribe
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB), Imphal, on Tuesday arrested a Senior Accountant from the Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Manipur, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹10,000.
The accused, Irom Bishorjit Singh, posted in the GOE Section, was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe for processing the MACP file of an employee from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Pangei.
Acting on a complaint regarding the illegal demand, the CBI laid a trap on 18 November 2025, leading to the immediate arrest of the official. Searches at the accused’s premises are currently underway, and further investigation is ongoing.
