DC Bishnupur Inspects Progress of JJM Water Supply Projects at Utlou, Khujairok and Toupokpi

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bishnupur district in Manipur recently inspected multiple water-supply projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission—specifically in Utlou, Khujairok and Toupokpi villages. The inspection focused on the augmentation of water-supply schemes and stressed “timely completion” of works so that rural households get access to safe and piped water. The official dashboard shows the Toupokpi scheme (Project Code BPR/JJM/Toupokpi) is listed as ongoing.

According to official project listings and the news report:

• The Augmentation of Utlou Water Supply Scheme in Bishnupur district is one of the projects.

• The Augmentation of Khujairok Water Supply Scheme is another.

• The Augmentation of Toupokpi Water Supply Scheme (Project Code BPR/JJM/Toupokpi) is also ongoing.

These are key because “augmentation” implies increasing capacity, improving infrastructure — not just starting from scratch. It means the community is already getting some water supply, but the scale or reliability needs to improve.

The DC’s recent inspection of JJM projects in Bishnupur is more than a photo-op. It reflects an earnest attempt to deliver water infrastructure in challenging terrain, to rural households that often wait. The missions are ambitious, but for households, the outcome matters: piped water, fewer water-borne diseases, less fetching from springs, more dignity.

Infrastructure isn’t glamorous until it works—and even then, it’s taken for granted. For villages in Utlou, Khujairok, Toupokpi, the promise of reliable water supply might feel long overdue. The inspection signals we’re moving from promise to delivery. Now the real work begins.
