Enhanced Protection Provided to Former Manipur Chief Minister

Amid ongoing political developments and speculation surrounding the possible formation of a new government in Manipur, former Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh has reportedly been provided with enhanced security cover by the Central Government.

According to sources, the security arrangements currently in place for the former Chief Minister are more extensive than those provided during his tenure. The scale and strength of the deployment have reportedly been significantly increased as a precautionary measure.

Sources further indicated that the enhanced security includes the deployment of senior personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). In addition, specialised security equipment, including a Mobile Communication Jamming Vehicle (MCJV), has reportedly been incorporated into the security cover.

Although there has been no official confirmation from the authorities, the development has attracted attention in political circles, particularly against the backdrop of discussions related to governance and future political arrangements in the state.
