Man Injured in CRPF Firing at Tronglaobi Dies at RIMS

A 29-year-old man who sustained critical injuries during a firing incident in Tronglaobi has succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences.

Victim Identified

The deceased has been identified as:

Wahengbam Bobby (29)

• Son of Wahengbam Ibochouba

• Resident of Kumbi Terakhong Ward No. 7 in Bishnupur district

Incident Details

According to reports, the incident occurred in Tronglaobi, a locality that has recently witnessed heightened tension. Bobby was allegedly hit by a bullet fired during an operation involving personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force.

• He sustained serious gunshot injuries

• Was immediately rushed to RIMS in Imphal

• Admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition

Death at Hospital

Despite continuous medical treatment and efforts by doctors, Bobby succumbed to his injuries:

• He passed away at around 9:00 AM on April 8, 2026

• Doctors were unable to stabilise him due to the severity of the injuries
