Manipur BJP MLA Asserts Party Will Regain Power in 2027

Manipur BJP MLA Thokchom Radheshyam Singh has expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party will return to power in the 2027 state assembly elections, dismissing doubts about the party’s political strength.

Speaking to supporters at his residence in the Heirok constituency, Singh said there should be “no hesitation or fear” regarding the BJP’s chances.

“People say the BJP may not come back, but everyone should understand that the party will certainly form the government in 2027,” he stated.

Singh argued that recent political setbacks should not be blamed on the party itself. Using a metaphor, he said:

“If the driver is not skilled, you cannot blame the vehicle or its company.”

He suggested that the ongoing instability in Manipur was caused by a few individuals within the organisation, not the party’s core structure. According to him, the BJP as an organisation “has not done anything wrong” and continues to remain a strong force in the state.

He added that “a few leaders have damaged the state,” distancing the party from controversial decisions taken by certain members.

His remarks come at a time when Manipur continues to face prolonged unrest and political uncertainty, conditions that opposition parties frequently cite to question the BJP’s governance. Despite this, Singh maintained that the BJP enjoys significant public support and is poised to reclaim power when voters head to the polls in 2027.
