Security Forces Recover Huge Cache of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives in Imphal West
Imphal, Manipur – August 8, 2025: Security forces in Manipur have recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives from the general area of Langol Usoi Makhong under Lamphel Police Station, Imphal West district.
According to official sources, the operation was carried out on 08.08.2025, leading to the recovery of the following items:
- One (.303) rifle with one magazine
- One 9mm pistol with magazine and 8 live rounds
- One (.32) pistol with magazine
- Two HE hand grenades with two detonators
- 208 live rounds of .303 ammunition
- Seven high density cartridge live rounds
- One 12 bore ammunition
- Two SLR magazines
- Four .303 rifle charging plates
- Two tear smoke shells
- One rubber bullet
- One tactical knife
- One bulletproof helmet (patka)
- One bulletproof vest
- Two wireless communication sets with charger
Significance of the Recovery
The seized items include not only small arms and high-powered rifles but also explosives, protective gear, and communication devices — indicating possible preparedness for armed operations. Security officials believe the recovery will help in preventing potential militant activities in the region.
