Veteran Music Director and Shumang Leela Singer Jeeten Kumar Naorem Dies After Illness
Veteran music director and Shumang Leela singer Jeeten Kumar Naorem passed away after a prolonged illness at his residence in Imphal West’s Taothong area.
Naorem was a respected artiste associated with the Peacemaker Artistes Association for more than two decades. He was best known for his soulful and powerful singing in Shumang Leela performances, which earned him admiration across generations.
Beyond Shumang Leela, he contributed significantly to Manipuri films, theatre productions, and music videos as a music director, helping shape the evolving sound of Manipuri performing arts.
His death is being mourned by artistes, admirers, and cultural organisations across the state.
