Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on April 17 undertook a road journey to Ukhrul district as part of ongoing outreach efforts aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement and reviewing infrastructure development in remote areas.
Interaction with Local Communities
The Chief Minister’s first stop was at Shangkai village, where he interacted with residents.

He later visited Thawai Kuki village, where a large number of villagers gathered to meet him. Locals highlighted key issues such as:
• Poor road connectivity

Review of Development Projects
During the visit, the Chief Minister is scheduled to:
• Halt at Ramva to review progress of a National Highway project
• Inspect an ongoing rigid pavement construction project
• Inaugurate the Shirui Heritage Project at Shirui village
These initiatives are part of broader efforts to enhance connectivity and tourism potential in the region.
Meetings with Stakeholders
At Ukhrul headquarters, the Chief Minister will:
• Hold discussions with Tangkhul Naga community leaders
• Meet district officials, including the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police
• Review administrative and security-related matters at the DRDA conference hall
