Dense Fog Forces Cancellation of 129 Flights at Delhi Airport
New Delhi: Severe fog conditions led to the cancellation of at least 129 flights at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday, officials confirmed. The disruption included 66 incoming flights and 63 departures, as low visibility continued to affect air traffic across the national capital.
Flight operations at Delhi and several other airports have been impacted for the past few days due to persistent dense fog, which has significantly reduced visibility, particularly during early morning and late-night hours.
In an update shared on social media platform X, Delhi airport operator Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) stated that Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) were in force and that flight operations were being managed as per established protocols.
Indira Gandhi International Airport, operated by DIAL, is the busiest airport in the country and typically handles around 1,300 flights each day. Authorities said monitoring of weather conditions is ongoing, and further delays or cancellations may occur depending on visibility levels.
