Security forces have intensified counter-insurgency operations in Ukhrul district, where 23 illegally constructed bunkers were dismantled across multiple hill locations.

The bunkers were located in and around:
- Mongkot Chepu
- Shongphel
- Mullam
- Sirarakhong
- Ringue villages
All fall under the jurisdiction of Litan Police Station.
Officials said these bunkers had been built by armed groups to establish territorial control and defensive positions amid ongoing ethnic tensions.

During the operation, security personnel seized:
- 1 12-bore pump-action gun
- 17 live rounds of ammunition
- 111 fired cartridge cases
- A battery charger
- Magazine pouch
- Jungle boots

In another operation near Moreh in Tengnoupal district, forces recovered:
- 2 single-barrel rifles
- 4 9 mm pistols with magazines

The IEDs were safely destroyed on the spot, preventing potential threats to civilians and security forces.
