Manipur HSLC 2026 Results Announced; Pass Percentage Falls to 88.74%
The Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) officially declared the HSLC Class 10 Examination 2026 results on Friday, May 8, recording an overall pass percentage of 88.74%, a decline from last year’s 91.37%.
The results were announced by Education (School) Commissioner Ningthoujam Geoffrey and BOSEM Chairman Ng Bhogendro Singh during an official programme held in Manipur.

Internally Displaced Students
A total of 392 internally displaced students appeared for the examination amid the continuing unrest in the state.

- From Valley Districts: 231
- From Hill Districts: 161
Officials noted that special arrangements were made to ensure displaced students could continue their education and sit for the examination.
District-wise Performance
Among Manipur’s 16 districts:
- Highest Pass Percentage:
Chandel district – 97.38%
- Lowest Pass Percentage:
Jiribam district – 74.59%
Examination Irregularities
BOSEM also reported disciplinary actions during the examination period:
- 8 students were debarred and expelled for impersonation
- 1 student was expelled for malpractice
- Results of 3 students have been withheld pending further verification
NEP 2020-Based Evaluation
The examination continued under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 aligned grading system, focusing on a more holistic and competency-based assessment approach rather than purely marks-oriented evaluation.
Despite the slight decline in the overall pass percentage, officials stated that the performance of students remained encouraging, especially considering the challenging conditions faced by many families across the state.
