Manipur Launches Statewide Campaign to Ensure No Eligible Voter Is Left Out
Imphal, October 12, 2026: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Manipur has launched a statewide campaign to ensure that every eligible voter is included in the electoral rolls. Special camps are being organised across 3,041 polling booths to help voters verify their enrolment status and resolve related issues.
According to the CEO’s office, all 16 District Election Officers (DEOs) have initiated the campaign. Voters can approach Booth-Level Officers (BLOs), 84 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 60 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) or their respective DEOs for assistance and to register complaints regarding electoral roll-related matters.
The Election Commission published the final electoral rolls for Manipur on September 6 following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The revised rolls contain more than 19.60 lakh electors across the state’s 60 Assembly constituencies.
During the revision process, 1.89 lakh names were deleted, while 56,871 voters were added to the electoral rolls.
Chief Electoral Officer Arun Kumar Sinha stated that the revised list comprises 9,53,350 male voters, 10,06,962 female voters and 308 third-gender electors, with women outnumbering men.
The campaign aims to address voter enrolment concerns and ensure that no eligible citizen is excluded from the electoral rolls ahead of the Manipur Assembly elections scheduled for early next year.
