Manipur Publishes Final Electoral Rolls, Total Electorate Reaches 19.60 Lakh

IMPHAL, September 6: Manipur has published the final photo electoral rolls for all 60 Assembly constituencies, with the state’s total electorate standing at 19,60,620.

The final electoral roll includes 9,53,350 male voters, 10,06,962 female voters and 308 third-gender electors. The elector-population ratio is 51.99, while the gender ratio stands at 1,056.

The final rolls were published after an extensive electoral revision exercise involving verification of voter details, claims and objections, and the inclusion of service voters.

19.60 Lakh Electors in Final Roll

Before the revision process began, Manipur had 20,93,076 registered electors, comprising 10,10,317 men, 10,82,459 women and 300 third-gender electors.

During the enumeration exercise, 19,34,399 enumeration forms were received. A total of 1,58,677 electors whose forms were not received were excluded from the draft roll.

The exclusions covered people identified as absent, deceased, shifted, duplicated or falling under other categories.

The draft electoral roll published on July 5 contained 19,34,399 electors.

Over 12 Lakh Notices Issued

As part of the verification process, election authorities issued notices to 91,178 unmapped electors and 11,30,655 electors identified with logical discrepancies.

Overall, 12,21,833 notices were issued for verification.

Following hearings and examination of documents, 26,362 electors were found ineligible. The reasons included inadequate documentation, absence, death, shifting and duplication.

56,871 Electors Added After Claims and Objections

The claims and objections period was conducted from July 5 to August 4. During this period, election authorities processed 96,985 claims and objections.

Following the verification exercise, 56,871 electors were added to the electoral rolls, while 30,650 names were deleted.

The final figures therefore reflect the changes made after the draft roll, verification process and claims-and-objections period.

Service Voters Also Included

The service voters’ list was also published on September 6, with July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.

The number of enrolled service electors stands at 20,819.

Copies of the final photo electoral rolls for each of Manipur’s 60 Assembly constituencies were handed over to authorised representatives of recognised national and state political parties at a meeting held on Sunday.

Voters Advised to Verify Names

Electors have been advised to check their names and details in the final electoral rolls. The rolls can be inspected at the offices of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and Booth Level Officers (BLOs).

The final electoral rolls are also available for download through the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipurwebsite.
