Manipur: Three Rescued Barking Deer Released at Keibul Lamjao National Park

In a positive development for wildlife conservation in Manipur, three endangered barking deer—including a young fawn—have been successfully rescued from human settlements and released back into their natural habitat at Keibul Lamjao National Park.

Rescue Operations Across Districts

The rescues were carried out in multiple locations across Imphal West district and Imphal East district, following reports of the animals straying into residential areas.

📍 First Rescue – Uchiwa Mamang Leikai (Imphal West)

  • An adult barking deer entered the residence of a local family near Loktak Lake
