Manipur: NEET Aspirants Stage Protest March in Manipur’s Imphal Over Alleged Paper Leak
Imphal, July 23: NEET aspirants in Manipur on Wednesday organised a protest march along Keishampat Road in Imphal, joining demonstrations taking place in different parts of the country over the alleged NEET paper leak issue.
A large number of students participated in the rally, voicing concern over the alleged examination irregularities and demanding a fair, transparent, and merit-based examination process.
During the protest, the demonstrators raised slogans seeking accountability from the authorities and called for comprehensive reforms in the country’s examination system. They also expressed support for climate activist Sonam Wangchuk during the march.
Speaking to the media, one of the protesters said that cracking the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) requires years of dedication and hard work, with more than 24 lakh students competing for a limited number of medical seats each year. The student alleged that any paper leak undermines the credibility of the examination and jeopardises the future of thousands of deserving aspirants.
The protesting students urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged paper leak, take strict legal action against those responsible, and implement stronger safeguards to prevent similar incidents in future examinations.
The demonstration remained peaceful as students reiterated their demand for transparency, accountability, and equal opportunities for all NEET aspirants.
