Manipur CM Congratulates Sarungbam Nimai Singh on Lalit Kala Akademi Award
Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has congratulated artist Sarungbam Nimai Singh of Yumnam Leikai, Imphal, for receiving the prestigious Lalit Kala Akademi Award at the 65th National Exhibition of Art.
Nimai Singh was among 20 artists selected for the award from 6,175 entries received from across India. His teak wood sculpture, ‘Mudra-1’, earned the national recognition for its artistic merit.
The Chief Minister said Nimai Singh’s achievement is a matter of pride for Manipur and reflects the state’s rich artistic heritage. He also wished the artist continued success in his future artistic work.
The award has brought national recognition to Manipur’s artistic talent and highlighted the contribution of the state’s artists to India’s cultural heritage.
