Manipur CM Yumnam Khemchand Singh Inaugurates Library, Reviews School Infrastructure Projects

Imphal, Manipur | July 26: Reaffirming the Manipur Government’s commitment to improving the state’s education sector, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Saturday inaugurated a newly constructed library building at Heirangoithong High School and inspected the progress of infrastructure development at Singjamei Chingamakha High School.

The Chief Minister’s visit highlighted the government’s continued efforts to strengthen educational facilities and create a better learning environment for students across Manipur.

New Library Opened at Heirangoithong High School

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh officially opened the new library building at Heirangoithong High School in the presence of Smt. Neeta Arambam, Secretary of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC)Director of Education (Schools) Ng. Bhogendra Meetei, the school’s Head Mistress, teachers, and other senior officials.

Speaking during the inauguration, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of libraries in promoting education and intellectual growth. He said access to quality reading materials would inspire students to develop regular reading habits, broaden their knowledge, and strengthen their academic abilities.

He noted that well-equipped libraries play a crucial role in nurturing informed, skilled, and responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to the development of Manipur.

Inspection of School Construction at Singjamei Chingamakha High School

Following the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister visited Singjamei Chingamakha High Schoolto assess the progress of ongoing construction work for new school buildings.

Accompanied by officials from the Education Department, Singh reviewed the project and expressed satisfaction with the pace of development. He stated that the construction work is progressing according to schedule and is expected to be completed within the planned timeframe.

The inspection reflects the government’s efforts to ensure that educational infrastructure projects are implemented efficiently and completed without unnecessary delays.
