Manipur: Dengue Cases Cross 750 in Churachandpur, Two Die

Churachandpur, August 25, 2026: Dengue cases in Churachandpur district have crossed 750, with 752 infections and two deaths reported this year, according to officials.

The latest victim, Lily Lhingboiniang, died at Churachandpur District Hospital on Monday after being diagnosed with dengue and typhoid. A 13-year-old student from Valveng, New Lamka, was the first reported fatality, dying on August 22 after developing a high fever.

The district’s cases have more than doubled from 332 during the same period last year. In response, the Malaria Department has intensified preventive measures, including thermal fogging in Valveng and nearby areas.

Health workers have advised residents to use mosquito nets and remove stagnant water around their homes to prevent mosquito breeding.
