Manipur: National Lok Adalat Resolves 229 Cases, Settles Over ₹3.18 Crore

Manipur State Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with the High Court Legal Services Committee and various District Legal Services Authorities, resolved 229 cases involving settlements worth over ₹3.18 crore during the second National Lok Adalat of 2026 held across district courts and the High Court of Manipur on Saturday.

The Lok Adalat dealt with both pre-litigation disputes and pending civil matters, including money recovery cases, bank recovery disputes, matrimonial issues, MACT cases, and other civil-related matters.

Justice A Bimol Singh said that 37 pending court cases and around 2,385 pre-litigation matters were placed before the Lok Adalat for settlement. He noted that alternative dispute resolution mechanisms like Lok Adalat and mediation provide faster, cost-effective, and amicable settlements while also helping reduce the burden of pending cases in courts.

The proceedings were also reviewed by Justice A Guneshwar Sharma during the event.
