SDRF Intensifies Search for Missing School Student Swept Away by Strong Currents in Churachandpur
Churachandpur, June 13, 2026: The Churachandpur district administration, in collaboration with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), has intensified search and rescue operations to locate a school student who was swept away by strong water currents in Tuibong Sub-Division following heavy rainfall.
The missing student, Miss Lamboikim, daughter of Khupkholun Tuboi of K. Khomunnom village and a Class VIII student of Radhakrishnan Foundation School, Tuibong, was reported missing on June 11. The incident occurred amid continuous rainfall that caused a significant rise in water levels and created hazardous conditions in the area.
Rescue personnel are conducting extensive searches, while local authorities continue to monitor the situation closely. The incident has drawn concern from residents, with hopes remaining high for the safe recovery of the young student.
Authorities have also urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid venturing near rivers, streams, and flooded areas during the ongoing monsoon season.
